Choosing between weights and springs depends on your property and priorities:

Sash on Weights (Traditional):

• Authentic period mechanism – cast iron or lead weights on cords
• Requires a box frame (deeper reveal) to house the weights
• Smooth, consistent counterbalance at any sash position
• Preferred for listed buildings and conservation areas

Sash on Springs (Modern):

• Spiral spring balance concealed in the frame

All double-glazed sash windows achieve U-values of 1.4 W/m²K or better, meeting Building Regulations Part L. Combined with effective draught-proofing, modern wooden sash windows are as thermally efficient as any contemporary window.

Every sash window we supply includes robust security features as standard:

We're supply-only, so you'll need a joiner or builder for installation. This keeps our prices competitive – you're paying for quality windows, not showroom overheads.
