Project: Hidden Spring Sashes for Hackney Victorian Terrace

London pricing is mad, so when this Hackney couple contacted us about replacing their sash windows throughout, they’d already had quotes from local London firms. All came in £15k-£20k. We supplied equivalent quality for under £10k because we manufacture outside London and deliver finished.

They chose sash windows with hidden spring mechanisms—less wall disruption than traditional weight pockets, easier to retrofit, and the springs last 20+ years with zero maintenance. We built them in engineered pine with factory-applied Teknos primer ready for top coat painting.

The installation window (pun intended) was tight: a week in August when they were on holiday. Our fitters worked 7am-6pm for four days, removed all the old windows, fitted the new ones, and redecorated the internal reveals. Clients came back to finished windows and a clean house.

What made this work was accurate measuring. We visited twice to template every opening because Victorian terraces aren’t uniform—window heights varied by 15mm across the same floor. Every frame was made bespoke to exact dimensions.

Twelve months later, they recommended us to three other houses on their street. That’s how we like to grow the business—one satisfied customer at a time.
